Maaveeran opening in 110 screens

Maaveeran, the dubbed version of Telugu blockbuster Maghadheera is opening on Friday (May 27) in 110 screens in Tamil Nadu.

Two years after its Telugu release, Ram Charan is testing the waters in Tamil with the film produced by Geetha Arts.

The film has Megastar Chiranjeevi’s son Ram Charan Tej and Kajal Aggarwal in the lead and is directed by hit maker SS Rajamouli. The buzz around the film is good and it may break the hoodo around Telugu films dubbed into Tamil.

In Chennai city the leading multiplex Sathyam Cinemas and Escape are not releasing the film. In fact during the audio launch of Maaveeran, SS Rajamouli said: “It is my dream to see Maaveeran at Sathyam Cinemas, which has the best projection in India. I grew up in Chennai and has seen many films at Sathyam.”

Allu Sirish of Geetha Arts has tweeted- “The movie won’t play at Sathyam & Escape as they do not screen dubbed films. We requested the management, but they told us it’s a policy issue”.
